We aim to provide our Snowy Owls with the best possible start to their early years education.

Barn owls-3-4 years-Pre-school
In our preschool room, we design focused experiences that promote the development of pre-writing skills, mathematical understanding, and emotional literacy through play, allowing our Barn Owls children to learn without realising it! Our staff plans activities that ensure each child meets essential milestones and is prepared for Primary school. Daily phonics sessions enhance the children's phonics knowledge.
During your child's day, each child, with the support of a key worker, will register their attendance at snack time by writing their first name. Once they have mastered this, they will progress to writing their surname, as well as clapping out the syllables in their name and other words.
We provide a more structured learning environment where numbers, letters, sounds, and phonics skills are cultivated through various activities, small group learning, loose parts play, and creative endeavours. We also incorporate mindfulness activities such as yoga, pamper sessions, and circle time discussions. Children are encouraged to participate in daily story time with our story of the week and singing activities, which help enhance our Barn Owls listening and attention skills.

Sensory room
Our sensory room provides a safe environment for children to manage their emotions and offers an outlet to dysregulate and explore various sensory equipment, including lights, sounds, and textures.

Outdoor classroom
Our large outdoor space allows us to explore our forest feel setting- allowing children to opportunity to explore the natural environment, grow fruits and vegetables in our planting area, balance on beams and tyres and whip up a leaf and grass pie in our mud kitchen! Our huge canopy area has outdoor reading teepee's, play-dough stations and sand areas, but our outside classroom also allows children to access the outdoor space in all weathers- however we have never met a toddler who doesnt like to splash in muddy puddles!

Outdoor classroom-smaller children
We provide a designated outdoor area for our babies and young children to safely explore. This separate space allows for smaller group play, featuring activities such as sand, water play, and climbing frames.
